Stock market today snapped their five-session winning streak on June 19, with the Nifty slipping below the 24,050 mark amid heavy selling in IT stocks, weak global cues and renewed geopolitical concerns. Profit booking after the recent rally also weighed on investor sentiment.
The market remained under pressure throughout the session as technology stocks witnessed sharp selling following weak global sentiment. HDFC Bank and Reliance Industries also contributed to the decline, dragging benchmark indices lower.

Stock market today ended higher in a volatile session on June 18, with the Nifty closing near the 24,200 mark. Sentiment improved on the back of softer crude oil prices and supportive global cues, even as investors assessed the US Federal Reserve's hawkish policy stance.
The market witnessed range-bound trading for most of the session before ending with modest gains. Positive global cues and easing oil prices supported investor sentiment, while caution around the Fed's policy outlook kept gains in check.

Benchmark indices touched fresh intraday highs in the second half, with the Nifty 50 briefly crossing the 24,000 mark. However, some profit booking near higher levels prevented the index from sustaining above the psychological mark, though it still ended near the day's high.
