Stock market today extended its losing streak for the fourth consecutive session on June 1 as uncertainty surrounding the US-Iran peace deal and late-session profit booking dragged benchmark indices sharply lower from their intraday highs.
The market started on a strong note, with the Sensex touching an intraday high of 75,367.93 and the Nifty reaching 23,733.70. However, selling pressure intensified in the second half of the session, pulling the Sensex down nearly 1,000 points from the day's high.
- Sensex: 74,267.34 down 508.40 points (-0.68%)
- Nifty 50: 23,382.60 down 165.15 points (-0.70%)
