Aluminium Segment Drives Revenue Growth

NALCO’s aluminium business remained the key contributor to its quarterly performance. Standalone aluminium segment revenue increased 44.6% YoY to ₹4,164.54 crore, compared with ₹2,880.35 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The segment’s profit before tax, exceptional items and interest rose approximately 73% to ₹2,058.15 crore from ₹1,189.37 crore a year earlier, reflecting stronger earnings from the aluminium business.

In contrast, the chemicals segment reported a decline. Its revenue fell 7.7% YoY to ₹1,692.57 crore, while segment profit declined 54.8% to ₹281.90 crore.

Profit Declines on a Sequential Basis

Despite the year-on-year growth, NALCO’s consolidated net profit declined 8.4% compared with ₹2,003.14 crore in Q1 FY27. Revenue from operations, however, increased 2.2% quarter-on-quarter from ₹5,302.38 crore.

Operating EBITDA declined sequentially, while the operating margin also moderated from the preceding quarter. This indicates some pressure on profitability compared with the strong performance reported in Q1 FY27.

NALCO Declares Interim Dividend of ₹4.50 Per Share

Alongside its quarterly results, the company’s Board approved an interim dividend of ₹4.50 per equity share, representing 90% of the face value of ₹5 per share, for FY27.

NALCO has fixed November 6, 2026, as the record date to determine eligible shareholders. The dividend payment is scheduled to be made on or before December 1, 2026.

Conclusion

NALCO delivered healthy year-on-year growth in revenue and net profit during Q2 FY27, supported by strong performance in its aluminium segment. However, the sequential decline in profit and weaker chemicals segment performance remain important aspects of the quarterly results.

The interim dividend announcement was another key development alongside the company’s financial performance.
