Consolidated PAT climbed to ₹5,202 crore from ₹3,926 crore in the year-ago quarter. Profit growth outpaced revenue growth during the period.

However, operating performance requires a closer look. EBITDA increased only marginally to ₹6,845 crore from ₹6,806 crore. The EBITDA margin declined to approximately 8.7% from 10% a year earlier, reflecting lower margins across parts of the business portfolio and a change in revenue mix.

Order inflows were a major highlight of the quarter. L&T secured orders worth ₹1,47,665 crore, marking a 28% increase from the corresponding period last year.

The company’s consolidated order book stood at ₹8,53,514 crore as of September 30, 2026, providing visibility into its execution pipeline. International markets accounted for approximately 54% of the order book.

For the first half of FY27, order inflows increased 22% year-on-year to ₹2,55,678 crore.

International Business Performance

International markets contributed 58% of L&T’s consolidated revenue during Q2 FY27, highlighting the importance of overseas projects to the company’s overall business.

The company reported activity across its energy, infrastructure, manufacturing and technology-related businesses. Strong order inflows during the quarter also reflected demand across domestic and international markets.

Consolidated profit after tax increased 24% year-on-year to ₹9,325 crore. Order inflows during the six-month period rose 22% to ₹2,55,678 crore.

The first-half performance reflects growth in revenue, profitability and order inflows, while the quarterly operating margin remains an important metric to monitor.

What to Watch Going Forward

L&T’s Q2 FY27 results showed higher revenue, stronger net profit and record quarterly order inflows. Its sizeable order book provides visibility into future project execution.

At the same time, the decline in EBITDA margin compared with the year-ago quarter highlights the importance of monitoring operating costs, project execution and business mix in subsequent quarters.

Investors and market participants may track future order inflows, execution progress, profitability and margin trends to assess the company’s performance over the remainder of FY27.

Conclusion

L&T reported a strong increase in consolidated net profit and revenue for Q2 FY27, supported by higher order inflows and growth across several business segments. The company’s record quarterly order intake and substantial order book were key highlights, while the lower EBITDA margin remained an important aspect of its operating performance.
