Nestlé India reported a strong financial performance for the second quarter of FY27, with standalone net profit rising 36% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹1,027 crore, compared with ₹753 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
Revenue from operations increased 20% YoY to ₹6,788 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, supported by demand for the company’s packaged food and beverage products. However, the company cautioned that rising commodity costs and food inflation continue to create challenges for the business.
Nestlé India Q2 FY27 Financial Highlights
Revenue from operations: ₹6,788 crore, up 20% YoY.
Net profit: ₹1,027 crore, up 36% YoY.
Previous-year net profit: ₹753 crore.
Key concern:
Rising food inflation and higher input costs.
The growth in profit outpaced revenue growth, indicating an improvement in the company’s reported profitability during the quarter.
Rising Commodity Costs Remain a Concern
Despite the strong quarterly performance, Nestlé India flagged inflationary pressure, particularly across food, packaging and agricultural commodities.
Managing Director and Chairman Manish Tiwary highlighted the challenging operating environment, noting that rising input costs remain a concern for the business.
Higher raw-material and packaging costs can put pressure on margins if companies are unable to offset them through pricing, productivity improvements or a more favourable product mix. The impact of these pressures will be important to monitor in the coming quarters.
What the Results Mean for Investors
Nestlé India’s Q2 FY27 performance reflects continued demand for its packaged food and beverage portfolio, with both revenue and net profit recording double-digit growth.
However, investors should look beyond headline growth and assess operating margins, commodity-price trends and management’s commentary on future demand. Sustained input-cost inflation could affect profitability even if sales continue to grow.
