Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) led the response, subscribing to their portion 59.02 times, while non-institutional investors (NIIs) subscribed 13.89 times. The retail investor category was subscribed 2.72 times. The issue had also received more than 1.30 crore applications, highlighting significant investor interest in Jio Platforms’ public offering.

Jio IPO Subscription: Day-Wise Demand Increases

Jio Platforms’ initial public offering opened on October 21 and is scheduled to close on October 23, 2026. Demand strengthened over the three-day bidding period, with overall subscription increasing from 3.04 times on the first day to 5.40 times on the second day. By 5:19 pm on the final day, the overall subscription had climbed to 19.30 times.

Subscription date

Overall subscription

October 21, Day 1

3.04x

October 22, Day 2

5.40x

October 23, Day 3, as of 5:19 pm

19.30x

By the latest update, investors had bid for approximately 381.14 crore shares against around 19.75 crore shares offered across the public investor categories. The overall subscription multiple measures the number of shares bid for relative to the shares available.

The sharp increase on the final day reflects the substantial demand generated during the closing stages of the issue, particularly from institutional investors.

QIB Portion Subscribed 59.02 Times

Qualified institutional buyers emerged as the strongest investor category in the Jio IPO. The QIB portion, excluding anchor investors, was subscribed 59.02 times, with bids for approximately 289.22 crore shares against 4.90 crore shares offered.

The total bid amount from this category stood at approximately ₹3.24 lakh crore, calculated using the upper end of the issue’s price band.

Non-institutional investors also showed strong interest, subscribing to their portion 13.89 times. This category received bids for approximately 50.63 crore shares against 3.64 crore shares offered.

Within the NII segment, applications above ₹10 lakh recorded subscription of 15.79 times, while applications up to ₹10 lakh were subscribed 10.10 times.

The institutional response was the biggest contributor to the overall subscription, with QIB demand significantly exceeding the shares reserved for the category.

Retail Investors, Employees and Shareholders Participate

The retail individual investor portion was subscribed 2.72 times, with bids for approximately 23.13 crore shares against 8.50 crore shares offered. The category attracted more than one crore applications, according to the latest subscription data.

The employee portion was subscribed 2.88 times, while the shareholder reservation category recorded subscription of 7.52 times.

Although retail demand was lower than institutional participation in terms of subscription multiples, the retail category still received bids exceeding its available allocation. The response from existing shareholders also remained strong, with their portion subscribed more than seven times.

These figures indicate that demand extended across investor categories, even as institutional investors continued to dominate the subscription trend.

Jio IPO Details: Issue Size and Price Band

Jio Platforms’ public issue is valued at approximately ₹30,213 crore, with a price band of ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share. Based on the latest available data, the total bid amount across the public investor categories stood at approximately ₹4.26 lakh crore.

The bid amount represents investor demand at the issue price and should not be confused with the money raised by the company. The final subscription multiple and bid amount may change before the bidding window closes.

What Happens After the Jio IPO Closes?

With the bidding deadline approaching, investors will next focus on the final subscription figures, share allotment and the company’s proposed stock-market debut. The tentative allotment date is October 26, 2026, while listing is scheduled for October 28 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), subject to the issue timetable.

The strong demand recorded so far highlights institutional interest in Jio Platforms, alongside participation from retail investors, employees and existing shareholders. However, high subscription does not guarantee listing gains. The stock’s performance after listing will depend on valuation, market conditions, investor sentiment and expectations for the company’s future growth.

For more updates on IPOs, investment deals, banking and financial markets, visit the Lakshmishree Investment and Securities News section.

The Jio IPO subscription reached 19.30 times by 5:19 pm on October 23, 2026, as the ₹30,213-crore public issue continued to attract strong investor demand ahead of the 7 pm bidding deadline.
