Ltd.<\/em> in West Bengal. The company underwent several name changes\u2014becoming <em>International Clothiers India Pvt. Ltd.<\/em> in May 2006, and <em>Vikram Solar Pvt. Ltd.<\/em> in September 2008. In August 2017, it was converted into a public limited company and renamed <em>Vikram Solar Limited<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Industry Standing<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As of March 31, 2025, Vikram Solar is among India\u2019s largest solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturers in terms of operational capacity. The company stands as the largest pure-play module manufacturer in the country, with an installed capacity of 4.50 GW and an enlisted capacity of 2.85 GW, as per MNRE\u2019s approved list of modules and manufacturers as of June 30, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Product Portfolio<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The company\u2019s solar energy product range includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>P-Type Monocrystalline Silicon PERC Modules<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>N-Type Monocrystalline Silicon (N-Type) Modules<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>N-Type Monocrystalline Silicon HJT Modules<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Through consistent R&amp;D and technological upgrades, Vikram Solar has improved the average efficiency of its products from 17.52% in CY 2016 to 23.66% in CY 2025 (till March 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Manufacturing Facilities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Vikram Solar operates two advanced solar PV module manufacturing facilities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>West Bengal<\/strong> \u2013 3.20 GW capacity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tamil Nadu<\/strong> \u2013 1.20 GW capacity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Together, these facilities contribute to a total installed capacity of 4.50 GW. The company has outlined ambitious expansion plans to increase its capacity to 15.50 GW by FY 2026 and further to 20.50 GW by FY 2027 through a mix of greenfield and brownfield projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Backward Integration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To strengthen its position in the solar value chain, the company is strategically backward integrating into solar cell manufacturing. It is setting up a facility at Gangaikondan, Tamil Nadu, with two units of 3.00 GW and 9.00 GW capacity, expected to be operational by FY 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Domestic and Global Presence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Vikram Solar has built a robust domestic distribution network, serving 19 states and 2 union territories through 83 authorized distributors and over 250 dealers. The company has also expanded internationally, with a sales office in the United States and a procurement office in China.
