Vodafone Idea (Vi) reported a consolidated net loss of \u20b97,166.1 crore for the March 2025 quarter, showing a slight improvement compared to the \u20b97,674.6 crore loss in the same quarter last year. However, the loss widened from the \u20b96,609.3 crore reported in the previous quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revenue rose 3.8% year-on-year to \u20b911,013.5 crore, driven by tariff increases and customer upgrades. Average revenue per user (ARPU) surged 14.2% year-on-year to \u20b9175.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, Vi\u2019s shares closed 3.22% lower at \u20b96.92 on the BSE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CEO Akshaya Moondra called Q4 a \u201cturnaround quarter,\u201d pointing to improvements across key business indicators and the highest average daily revenue in the past five years. He also noted that Vi is actively pursuing debt financing to fund capital expenditures estimated between \u20b950,000 crore and \u20b955,000 crore over the next few years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the full fiscal year 2025, Vodafone Idea reduced its net loss to \u20b927,383.4 crore from \u20b931,238.4 crore in FY24. Annual revenue rose modestly by 2.1% to \u20b943,571.3 crore. Despite this progress, the company\u2019s financial position remains strained, with a negative net worth of \u20b970,320.2 crore as of March 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vodafone Idea\u2019s total debt\u2014including bank loans, spectrum liabilities, and adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues\u2014stood at \u20b91.97 lakh crore. The company said its ability to meet debt obligations depends on ongoing support from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), successful fundraising efforts, and operational cash flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To improve its financial position, the board has approved raising up to \u20b920,000 crore through various methods, including public offerings, private placements, convertible securities, and foreign currency bonds. The final fundraising strategy will be decided by the Capital Raising Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the government\u2019s conversion of outstanding spectrum dues into equity, the government\u2019s stake in Vodafone Idea increased to 49%, while the promoter group maintains operational control with a 25.6% stake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
