India’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue surged to a record \u20b92.37 lakh crore in April, marking a 12.6% year-on-year increase, government data showed. This is the highest monthly collection since the GST system was implemented on July 1, 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In comparison, GST collections for March stood at \u20b91.96 lakh crore, a 9.9% rise over the same month last year. The previous record was \u20b92.10 lakh crore in April 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Domestic transactions contributed around \u20b91.9 lakh crore, growing 10.7%, while GST from imports climbed 20.8% to \u20b946,913 crore. Refunds issued during the month also saw a significant jump of 48.3%, reaching \u20b927,341 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This upward trend follows February\u2019s GST collections of \u20b91.83 lakh crore, which rose 9.1% year-on-year, and January\u2019s \u20b91.96 lakh crore, up 12.3%. In December, collections totaled \u20b91.77 lakh crore, showing a slower 7.3% growth after the festive season peak in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For FY25, the Union Budget projects an 11% increase in GST revenue, targeting \u20b911.78 lakh crore, including Central GST and compensation cess.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
