Natco Pharma\u2019s stock took a severe hit on February 13, plunging 18.5% as investors reacted negatively to the company\u2019s weak Q3 earnings report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pharmaceutical firm reported a 38% drop in net profit<\/strong>, which stood at \u20b9132.4 crore for the quarter, compared to \u20b9212.7 crore in the same period last year. Revenue also declined significantly by 37%<\/strong>, falling to \u20b9474.8 crore from \u20b9758.6 crore in the year-ago quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding to the concerns, EBITDA margins shrank drastically<\/strong> by 2,717 basis points<\/strong>, slipping to 8.2%<\/strong> in Q3 from 35.3%<\/strong> in the previous year\u2019s corresponding quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key factor behind the poor financial performance was a sharp decline in export formulation sales<\/strong>, which plummeted by more than 50%<\/strong> to \u20b9285.8 crore from \u20b9605.6 crore a year ago. Domestic formulation sales also saw a slight decline, dropping to \u20b996.1 crore from \u20b999.4 crore. Given that export formulations accounted for 44% of Natco Pharma’s Q3 revenue<\/strong>, the steep fall in this segment significantly impacted overall earnings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 9:55 AM<\/strong>, shares of Natco Pharma were trading at \u20b91,012.50<\/strong> on the NSE, marking the fifth consecutive session of decline<\/strong> and a cumulative loss of nearly 25%<\/strong> during this period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sharp selloff was accompanied by a spike in trading volumes<\/strong>, with over 24 lakh shares changing hands<\/strong>, nearly five times the one-month daily average<\/strong> of five lakh shares, further adding to the stock\u2019s downward pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
