Vishal Mega Mart, one of India’s largest diversified retailers, is set to launch its \u20b98,000-crore Initial Public Offering (IPO) on December 11. The IPO bidding for anchor investors will commence a day earlier, on December 10, as stated in the company’s Red Herring Prospectus (RHP). The public issue will close on December 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This IPO is structured entirely as an Offer for Sale (OFS), with no fresh equity issuance. The shares are being sold by the company\u2019s promoter, Samayat Services LLP, which currently holds a 96.55% stake in the Gurugram-based retail chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vishal Mega Mart\u2019s Market Position and Growth<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Operating through 626 stores across India, along with its mobile app and website, Vishal Mega Mart competes with major players like Reliance Retail, Trent, and Avenue Supermarts. It is recognized as one of the top two offline-first diversified retailers in India, with strong same-store sales growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financial Performance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The company has demonstrated robust financial growth. For the year ending March 2024, Vishal Mega Mart reported a 43.8% jump in net profit, reaching \u20b9461.9 crore. Revenue also grew by 17.5% year-on-year, totaling \u20b98,911.9 crore. These figures underscore the company’s potential for continued success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IPO Filing Process<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The updated IPO draft was submitted in October, following SEBI\u2019s approval of its confidential offer document on September 25. The retailer initially filed through the confidential pre-filing route in July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IPO provides an opportunity for investors to gain exposure to one of India’s leading retail chains, with a well-established footprint in the apparel, general merchandise, and FMCG sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
