Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd has posted strong numbers for the first quarter of FY25, with a consolidated net profit of \u20b91,437 crore, up 77% against \u20b9814 crore in the same quarter last year. Consolidated revenue from operations stood at \u20b94,348 crore, up 11% against \u20b93,915 crore on a year-over-year basis; its total income was through at \u20b95,083 crore, up 18% compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EBITDA grew 13% sequentially to \u20b9994 crore. Its expenses increased marginally to \u20b93,506 crore from \u20b93,239 crore in the same quarter last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The board of directors of HAL had earlier recommended a final dividend of \u20b913 per equity share besides an interim dividend of \u20b922 per equity share for the financial year 2023-24 on corporate actions. HAL’s shares were trading more than 1% lower at \u20b94,649 apiece as of 2:30 PM on August 14, despite strong financials. The company’s stock has shown outstanding growth, too. It has returned 140% in the last one year, more than quadrupled in two years, and risen over seven-fold in three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HAL’s sterling performance resonates quite well with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” program, which is aimed at making the country self-reliant in defense. The Company bagged a massive order from the Defence Ministry in April 2024 for the manufacture of 97 Light Combat Aircraft (LCA Mk-1A) Tejas for the Indian Air Force, worth around \u20b967,000 crore. At the end of March 31, 2024, HAL’s overall order book position was a strong \u20b994,000 crore, with new manufacturing contracts to the tune of over \u20b919,000 crore and ROH contracts above \u20b916,000 crore during FY24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
