The Union Budget 2024-25 will be presented in the Lok Sabha on July 23, confirmed by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju. In a post on X, he stated that the President of India, upon the recommendation of the Union Government, has sanctioned the proposal for summoning both Houses of Parliament for the Budget Session from July 22, 2024, to August 12, 2024, subject to parliamentary exigencies. Rijiju added that the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 will be officially presented on July 23.
BJP leader Nirmala Sitharaman, serving her second consecutive term as Finance Minister, will deliver the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2024-25. This milestone makes her the first finance minister to present seven consecutive Union Budgets, surpassing Morarji Desai’s record of six consecutive budgets. The Union Budget is a critical component of India’s fiscal policy, outlining the government’s economic priorities, fiscal strategies, and expenditure plans for the upcoming year. It is highly anticipated by businesses, investors, economists, and the general public due to its significant impact on economic growth, sectoral allocations, taxation policies, and welfare measures.
