TCS collaborates with Rolls-Royce

TCS Partners with Rolls-Royce for Hydrogen Research

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has expanded its collaboration with Rolls-Royce, the British aerospace and defence giant, to advance research in hydrogen fuel technology for aviation. The partnership aims to explore hydrogen as a zero-carbon fuel alternative, addressing key challenges in fuel combustion, delivery, and system integration.

TCS will contribute engineering expertise to support Rolls-Royce in ensuring the safe operation of hydrogen-powered aviation systems. Alan Newby, Director of Research and Technology at Rolls-Royce, welcomed TCS’s involvement, highlighting their role in advancing the company’s hydrogen technology goals.

This collaboration was announced at the Farnborough International Airshow, where TCS also demonstrated its capabilities in the aviation sector. The partnership builds on a long-standing relationship between Rolls-Royce and the Tata Group, spanning engine development and supply chain management since 2010.

Anupam Singhal, President of Manufacturing at TCS, emphasized the alliance’s potential to drive sustainable aviation solutions, aligning with TCS’s mission of using technology for societal benefit. Regu Ayyaswamy, Senior Vice President at TCS, noted that the hydrogen research is a crucial step in reducing aviation’s carbon footprint.

TCS’s commitment to sustainability is further underscored by its achievement of reducing its carbon emissions by 80% ahead of its 2025 target and its ongoing efforts to reach net zero by 2030.

With over 200 sustainability offerings, TCS continues to support global clients in their environmental initiatives. This latest venture with Rolls-Royce reinforces TCS’s role in fostering a greener future for the aerospace industry.
