Sify Data Managed Services to Invest ₹847 Crore in Bengaluru’s Aerospace Park

Nasdaq-listed Sify Data Managed Services has announced an investment of ₹847 crore in Bengaluru’s Aerospace Park to strengthen its data center, network, and security service offerings. This move aligns with Sify’s ongoing partnerships with tech giants like Cisco to drive enterprise digital transformation.

The investment was approved during the 64th State High-Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC) meeting, chaired by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The committee cleared nine proposals across industries, totaling ₹9,823 crore in investments and expected to create 5,605 jobs.

Karnataka’s Electronics and Semiconductor Push

Among the approved investments is Karnataka’s first semiconductor project in the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster at Kochanahalli, Mysuru, marking a significant milestone for the state. Karnataka has allocated 234 acres of land near Kadakola for this cluster, as part of its broader plan to develop the electronics and semiconductor industry.

The SHLCC approved three major new investments worth ₹6,573.6 crore, anticipated to generate 4,427 jobs:

  • DN Solutions India Private Limited: ₹998 crore investment at ITIR, Devanahalli, creating 467 jobs.
  • Silectric Semiconductor Manufacturing Private Limited: ₹3,425.6 crore investment in Mysuru, creating 460 jobs.
  • Sansera Engineering Limited: ₹2,150 crore investment at Harohalli, creating 3,500 jobs.

Besides, six on-going investment proposals worth ₹ 3,249.7 crore were sanctioned, which envisage creating 1,178 jobs.

In case of allotment from the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board, KIADB, companies must respect timelines, he said. Companies not starting operations within the laid-out timelines will attract fines. At times, Siddaramaiah ordered sugar mills to take measures to ensure farmers benefited from the sale of by-products; he suggested studying how profitable a sharing model Karnataka should conduct in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
