Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund has announced that it will pause fresh SIP contributions for its two international funds, the Motilal Oswal S&P 500 Index Fund and Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 Fund of Fund, starting January 5, 2025. This decision comes as the AMC has reached its overseas investment limit.
AMC further clarified that though no fresh instalments shall be accepted after the cut-off date, the existing SIP registration in the schemes would remain operational and can be resumed in future when there is change in regulation or when the exposure limits improve. In simple words, SIPs will be suspended and not terminated. Amount debited after January 5th will be refunded to investors. All other transactions such as redemptions, systematic withdrawals, fund switches, or transfer-out will not be affected.
As on November 30, Motilal Oswal S&P 500 Index Fund has an AUM of Rs 3,781.04 crore. The major constitutes include Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta Inc. The heavy semi-conductor-based fund is managed by Rakesh Shetty and Sunil Sawant since its launch on April 2020 onwards. This fund has given a one-year return of 33.42 percent as on date.
The Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 Fund of Fund invests in the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq, with a higher weightage towards top technology stocks. This fund shall invest exclusively in units of the Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 ETF and provides a unique opportunity to investors seeking exposure to global tech giants.
