MobiKwik Shares Drop After Heavy Q4 Loss; Net Loss Jumps to ₹56 Crore in FY25 March Quarter

Shares of MobiKwik came under pressure in Tuesday’s trade after the fintech company reported a sharp rise in net loss for the fourth quarter of FY25. The company posted a net loss of ₹56.03 crore in Q4FY25, compared to just ₹67 lakh in the same quarter last year, marking an 83-fold increase in loss.

Quarter-on-quarter, the loss rose by 1.63 percent. The company’s revenue from operations declined slightly to ₹267.70 crore from ₹269.40 crore in Q3FY25. On the operational front, EBITDA loss also expanded to ₹56.5 crore from ₹47.6 crore in the previous quarter.

The disappointing numbers led to a steep drop in the share price. One Mobikwik Systems Ltd’s shares opened down 3.57 percent and also touched an intra-day low of ₹262, down 6.08 percent on the NSE. There was, however, some recovery, and the stock traded at ₹270.6, still down 2.99 percent, at about 10 AM.

The weak earnings follow up on a robust market debut in December 2024, where the shares opened at ₹442.25 on the NSE, 58.5 percent higher than the IPO price of ₹279. The stock reached an upper circuit on that day and closed at ₹530.70, rising 20 percent from its debut level.

Investors will remain closely attentive to the path of profitability of the company and how it intends to manage operational expenses in future quarters, particularly following such a steep rise in losses.
