HDFC Life Q3 Net Profit Jumps 14% YoY to ₹415 Crore, Beats Key Expectations

HDFC Life Insurance Company reported a 14% year-on-year increase in net profit for Q3 FY25, reaching ₹415 crore compared to ₹365 crore in the same quarter last year. The company also recorded a 10% rise in net premium income to ₹16,771 crore, up from ₹15,235 crore, according to its stock exchange filings.

The insurer outperformed estimates across all key parameters. APE was up 15.5% at ₹3,686 crore versus estimates of ₹3,626 crore. VNB grew 17.8% to ₹1,009 crore against ₹908 crore estimates of analysts. VNB margin expanded sequentially to 27.4%, indicating higher profitability.

Assets under management for HDFC Life surged 18% year-on-year to ₹3.3 lakh crore. Persistency ratios further improved: the 13th-month persistency ratio was at 87%, while the 61st-month ratio went up to 61%. Solvency remained robust at 188%, well over the regulatory requirement of 150% [.

The stock of HDFC Life was, however, down 1.1% today and closed at ₹593.7 on the NSE despite the positive performance.
