Adani Energy Solutions Shares Surge 12% on Strong Q3 Business Growth

Shares of Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) soared over 12% on January 14, driven by the company’s robust operational performance in the October-December quarter (Q3) of FY25. By 11:05 am, the stock was trading at approximately ₹774 per share.

In a regulatory filing, AESL announced a significant expansion of its transmission network, which reached 26,485 ckm in Q3—a nearly 23% increase from the 20,422 ckm reported in the corresponding quarter of FY24. Additionally, the company’s provisional power transmission capacity rose by an impressive 54% year-on-year to 84,286 MVA during the quarter.

The company secured two major projects during the quarter: the Khavda Phase IV Part-D, valued at ₹3,455 crore, and the Rajasthan Phase III Part-I (Bhadla – Fatehpur HVDC), with an estimated project cost of ₹25,000 crore. The latter represents AESL’s largest project win to date, underscoring its expanding presence in the power transmission sector.

AESL also achieved full commissioning of the MP Package-2 transmission line, adding 1,088 ckm to its network and enhancing the transmission infrastructure in eastern Madhya Pradesh. Moreover, the company recorded a 3% year-on-year increase in power units sold while continuing to reduce distribution losses, reflecting improvements in operational efficiency.

With these new project wins, the company’s under-construction project pipeline has surged to ₹54,700 crore, up from ₹17,000 crore earlier. Investors are keenly awaiting AESL’s detailed Q3 results, which are scheduled to be released on January 23.

The bullish momentum extended across other Adani Group stocks on January 14. Adani Enterprises climbed over 8% to trade at approximately ₹2,420, Adani Ports advanced 6% to ₹1,129, and Adani Power surged 17% to ₹528 per share.

The strong performance of Adani Energy Solutions and other group companies reflects growing investor confidence in the conglomerate’s ability to capitalize on opportunities in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
