Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) reported a strong jump in its Q4 profit for the financial year ending March 2025. The company posted a consolidated net profit of ₹188 crore, which is a massive 1,300 percent increase compared to ₹13.4 crore in the same quarter last year.
The company’s total income in the March quarter rose slightly to ₹2,220 crore from ₹2,185 crore reported in Q4FY24.
Shares of ZEEL reacted positively to the results and closed 1.1 percent higher at ₹111 apiece on May 8.
The board of the company also announced a final dividend of ₹2.43 per share for the financial year FY25.
While subscription revenue rose during the year, advertising revenue saw a fall. For the full year FY25, ad revenue dropped to ₹3,591.1 crore from ₹4,057.7 crore in FY24. In the March quarter alone, ad revenue stood at ₹837.5 crore, lower than ₹940.6 crore in the previous quarter.
Domestic ad revenue declined 27 percent year-on-year due to factors like a weak advertising environment, delay of the Zee Cine Awards, a packed sports calendar, and a high base in Q4 of the previous year.
However, subscription revenue showed improvement. For FY25, the company earned ₹3,926.1 crore from subscriptions, up from ₹3,666 crore in FY24. This rise was supported by both TV channel subscriptions and growth in the company’s digital platform ZEE5.
