Railtel Corporation of India has secured a project worth over ₹262 crore from the State Transport Authority of Odisha. Shareholders have been informed about the new contract in an exchange filing.
Railtel has been assigned with a work order for a project valued at ₹2,62,33,85,540, which is inclusive of taxes. The project is for upgrading the current Command Control Centre to a Unified Command Control Centre. It additionally involves implementation of an Intelligent Enforcement Management System (IEMS) for the State Transport Authority.
Shares in Railtel appreciated 3 per cent in early trading following the announcement, a reflection of positive investor sentiment for the new order. The project will likely enhance transport infrastructure and digital enforcement systems in Odisha and further establish Railtel’s footprint in the state.
