The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has announced the inclusion of six new securities in the Futures and Options (F&O) segment starting January 31, 2025. The stocks to be added are Castrol India, Gland Pharma, NBCC, Phoenix Mills, Solar Industries India, and Torrent Power.
These stocks have been selected as per the criteria prescribed by SEBI and approval from the regulator has been received. Market lot sizes and strike price schemes for these securities will be pre-advised on January 30, 2025, through a separate circular, NSE said. The applicable quantity freeze details will also be available in the contract file for trading commencing January 31.
Meanwhile, NSE has also announced that 16 stocks will be excluded from the F&O segment from February 28, 2025. The list of excluded stocks includes PVR Inox, United Breweries, Abbott India, Bata India, Navin Fluorine International, City Union Bank, and Gujarat Gas, among others. Contracts of these stocks will not be available for trading beyond the mentioned date.
In the process, earlier in November 2024, the NSE launched F&O contracts on as many as 45 stocks including high-profile names such as Life Insurance Corporation, Adani Energy Solutions, Paytm, Nykaa, YES Bank and Zomato. If market analysts are to be believed, inclusion into the derivatives segment leads to higher volumes for the trading of the listed securities while also enhancing the price discovery.
