NALCO Shares Climb as Net Profit Jumps Five-Fold in Q2

Shares of National Aluminium Company (NALCO) rose in early trade on November 14, following the company’s impressive quarterly earnings report. The state-owned metals giant posted a massive five-fold increase in net profit for the quarter ending September, reaching Rs 1,062.2 crore—a 415.4% surge compared to Rs 206.3 crore in the same period last year.

NALCO’s revenue from operations also saw strong growth, climbing 31.5% year-on-year to Rs 4,001.5 crore, compared to Rs 3,043.8 crore in Q2FY24.

By 9:20 am, NALCO shares were trading 4% higher at Rs 228.19 on the NSE. The company’s EBITDA for the quarter skyrocketed to Rs 1,549 crore, marking a 289.4% jump from Rs 397 crore in the previous year. This impressive growth pushed the EBITDA margin up to 38.7%, a substantial improvement from 13% in the year-ago quarter.
