Aster DM Shares Surge 14% Following Strong Q2 Results

Aster DM Healthcare shares surged 14 percent on October 14, driven by a strong earnings performance for the July-September quarter. The company reported a net profit of Rs 96.84 crore, a significant improvement from a net loss of Rs 30.79 crore in the same period last year. Revenue for Q2 FY25 rose 16 percent year-on-year to Rs 1,086 crore, and the EBITDA margin expanded to 21.4 percent from 16.8 percent, showcasing improved operational efficiency.

The company’s growth plan entails the addition of over 1,800 beds by FY27, including a 300-bedded facility in a new Aster Women and Child hospital at Hyderabad. Aster DM’s payor mix in H1 FY25 saw a higher insurance contribution, with its flagship Aster Whitefield hospital in Bangalore achieving 67 percent occupancy and an ARPOB of Rs 70,000. This was besides the fact that the hospital segment had also rendered an operating EBITDA margin of 22.4 percent in H1 FY25 from 19.1 percent a year ago.
