CDSL Settles Sebi Allegations by Paying Rs 1.3 Crore

Central Depository Services Ltd. has fined ₹1.3 crore for settling the charges of violations related to directions given by Sebi. “The amount of ₹1,30,04,550 as recommended by HPAC has been approved by Panel of Whole-time Members vide their approval dated.,” Sebi said in an order on August 27.

The charges pertain to show-cause notice dated November 13, 2023, issued to CDSL due to non-compliance with various clauses of Sebi circulars related to dealing with debt securities in default. CDSL had opted to settle the proceedings through a settlement application filed on January 11, 2024, without denying or admitting the findings.
